Mockrail AI is an independent Indian AI mock test generator that creates exam-style MCQ papers from an aspirant's own study material — pasted notes, NCERT summaries, coaching PDF text, or photos of handwritten pages. The marketing site is mockrail.in and the app runs at mockrail.com.
Our mission
We believe exam prep works best when practice is focused, measurable, and built from your own notes. Our mission is to help every student turn study material into smart mocks — upload, generate, attempt, and improve with clarity and confidence.
The product came out of a problem most aspirants know well: you finish a chapter, you have the notes, and there is no quick way to find out whether any of it actually stuck. Reading the page again feels productive. Sitting a paper on it tells you the truth.
What we believe
- Your material, not ours. A mock built from a stranger's question bank cannot tell you whether you learned last night's chapter. Ours are built from what you actually studied.
- Scanning should be free. Note scans are unlimited on every plan, including Free. You are charged only when a mock is generated, never for adding your own material.
- Practice under real conditions. A timer, a question navigator and mark-for-review — because recognising a page and answering it in forty seconds are different skills.
- Mistakes are the material. Every wrong answer is saved by subject and topic so you can sit them again. The revision counter keeps you honest about what you have genuinely covered.
What Mockrail AI is not
We are not a test series and not a question bank. We do not sell pre-written papers for SSC, banking, UPSC or NEET, and we do not claim to replace one. Plenty of aspirants use a test series for full-length practice and use Mockrail alongside it for daily chapter revision from their own notes. Those are different jobs.
We are also not a teacher tool. There is no student roster, no proctoring and no way to sell papers to a batch. The person generating the mock is the person sitting it.
How it works
- Upload. Photograph a handwritten page, paste one chapter, or pick a saved topic.
- Generate. Set the question count, time and difficulty. Preview sample questions free before spending a credit.
- Attempt. Sit the paper in the exam layout with the timer running.
- Improve. Review the score, open Wrong Questions and build a shorter mock from your misses.
What is Mockrail AI?
Mockrail AI is an AI mock test generator for Indian competitive exam aspirants. You upload your own study material — pasted notes, NCERT summaries, coaching PDF text, or photos of handwritten pages — and the app writes a timed MCQ mock test from that content. You get four options per question, a countdown timer, a question navigator, mark-for-review, a score at the end, and a wrong-question bank for repeat practice.
It is deliberately not a question bank and not a test series. Mockrail AI does not sell pre-written SSC, banking, UPSC, or NEET papers. Every mock comes from material the student chose, which makes it useful for daily chapter revision rather than full-length simulated exams alone.
Who uses Mockrail AI?
Students and working professionals preparing for MCQ-based competitive exams in India use Mockrail AI when they want to generate a mock test from notes they already wrote — instead of relying on someone else's question set. Typical use cases include same-day chapter checks after coaching, weekend revision before a test series, and rebuilding mocks from topics where the wrong-question count is high.
- SSC & Railway CGL, CHSL, GD, NTPC, Group D — polity, history, maths shortcuts from your own sheets.
- Banking & Insurance IBPS PO/Clerk, SBI, RBI — awareness and reasoning from pasted PDF notes.
- UPSC & State PSC Prelims-style MCQs from NCERT summaries and handwritten answer notes.
- NEET & Medical Biology and chemistry chapter mocks from textbook photos and short notes.
- CUET & University Subject-wise MCQs from class notes before internals or entrance tests.
- Other MCQ exams Any exam where practice means answering timed multiple-choice questions from what you studied.
Three ways to create a mock test
Mockrail AI accepts three input types. All three produce the same exam-style output: timed MCQs with analysis and wrong-question saving.
- Paste notes. Copy class notes, NCERT points, or coaching PDF text and generate a mock test from notes in one chapter-sized block. Best for typed or digital material.
- Upload photos. Photograph handwritten pages, register copies, or textbook spreads and generate MCQs from photos. Unlimited scans on every plan — you pay only when a mock is generated.
- Use saved topics. Organise material by subject and topic in Short Notes, then rebuild a mock from any saved topic without re-uploading. The revision counter tracks how many times you have genuinely covered a topic.
Your notes vs a question bank
Most mock test apps hand you a fixed question bank written for everyone. Mockrail AI is an MCQ generator from notes — the questions come from what you studied last night, not from a stranger's syllabus dump. That difference matters for chapter-level revision where you need to know whether your material stuck.
| Compare | Mockrail AI | Typical question bank / test series |
|---|---|---|
| Question source | Your notes & photos | Pre-written by publisher |
| Chapter-level revision | Same-day mock from today's notes | Fixed schedule, generic topics |
| Note scans | Unlimited on all plans | Not applicable |
| Wrong-question bank | Saved by subject & topic | Varies by platform |
| Full-length simulated exam | Not the primary job | Core product |
Many aspirants use both: a test series for full papers, and Mockrail AI as the free AI mock test generator layer for daily notes-to-mock practice. See our blog guides if you are deciding between a chat tool and a dedicated exam-prep app.
Features for exam-style practice
Mockrail AI is built as exam prep software, not a one-off quiz maker. These features stay on every plan, including Free:
- Timed exam layout — countdown timer, question palette, mark for review, and submit flow similar to online competitive exams.
- Mock analysis — score, accuracy, and attempt history so you can compare performance across the same topic over time.
- Wrong Questions hub — every miss is stored by subject and topic; generate a shorter follow-up mock from weak areas only.
- Short Notes library — save scanned or pasted material, tag subjects, and rebuild mocks without starting from zero.
- Important Hub — mark high-priority topics and filter revision toward what matters most before the exam window.
- Free sample preview — see example questions before spending a mock credit on full generation.
Plans, pricing, and free mocks
Mockrail AI runs on a simple rail model priced in INR. Platform Rail (Free) includes 5 AI mock test generations per month, unlimited note scans, and access to the full app — no credit card required. Paid rails (Lite ₹99, Starter, Pro, Max) add more monthly mocks for heavier prep cycles. You are charged when a mock is generated, never for scanning or saving your own notes.
A standard mock (5–15 questions from one note source) uses 1 credit. Larger mocks (16–30 questions or multiple photos in one paper) use 2 credits. Top-up mock packs are available via WhatsApp if you run out mid-month. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
